I tend not to help people with details when changing their setups, sorry, too many variables. I do advise learning more about the changes you make and make your own judgment on the specifics. It’s not hard, and it’s fun. Besides, my belief is that changing anything without understanding the change is cargo cult, and as such is harmful to the network.
A good way to start it to read man pages of the commands mentioned in the article, then search the web for terms you do not understand. You can also try doing it first in a safe environment, for example inside a virtual machine.
