Hello all! Hope you all are fine and safe! I am with a lot of doubts at the moment! So, i will strat from the beginning: I had a node since sept. 2019 until Apr 2020. I lost my wallet key and to worsening all my wife did something on my computer while cleaning that messed up with my windows. I needed to make a new clean install and never came back no install the node! Right now and a couple of months later, i am installing the node again on top of older instalation with all the previous node files and with the same certificate and with a new identity! Probably i am doing wrong, yet it seems i have quite amount held back and i am seeing a lot of activity on the HDD. Also on my dashboard, i get the sattelites offline (0%) Here is my dashboard (currently node is freeing space). ![image](https://storj-s3.bcdn.literatehosting.net/original/2X/3/3e77a7b597be469489a67dddfabf4c6461c4fa0f.png) Is the node disqualified? You cant run a old node with a new node with the same files, You have to start from scratch. > [@ColdSpirit](#): > > Is the node disqualified Is the node online? receiving data? Can you check your logs to see if its actually running. ---

Ahh I mean you can let it run to see if it goes up cause far as I know downtime DQ was disabled. Also did you update your wallet in the start command for your node so if it does work you get paid? ---

I installed like a new node, with new auth token… when i was creating identity i already had… and i remember it was because previous node… well i verified and it was working good. So i proceeded to the installation of the node on the same place previous was… with all the files inside… The wallet used in the installation of the node was the new one. I am getting engress… and a lot of hdd activity. ---

Well the problem is you still have all the old data still there so your technically wasting alot of space. Would of been a good idea to delete the old data before running the new node in the same location, cause now you lost alot of storage space because it will never use that old data and could cause issues. Since the old databases were probably still in the folder as well. Cause if you look at the dashboard it shows 2.74TB used so technically its not a new node its the old node. If it was the new node it would say everything is 100% as well. ---

If you were running a new node with old node data it would eventually get DQed and you would know 100% it didnt work. I don’t want to make the wrong call cause you very well maybe safe and actually running your orginal node. But just to see if you get paid I think it would be worth it rather then loosing everything cause you deleted all the files. ---

hi if you used the original identity and signed a new auth token, I believe it will successfully take over the old data. i.e. it is the identity that goes with the data not the auth token But don’t try to run an additional node with the same identity at the same time.
