Any plans for a possible Storj v4?

Is Storj v3 the final version?
Are there any plans for Storj v4?
Are there any features and impruvements considered for a major upgrade like this?

The change from v2 to v3 was a fundamental change in how the network functions e.g. fixing how files were stored, improving reliability, etc. So now the network functionality and reliability is as it should be there’s no reason to effectively start from scratch again.

@Stob Although it’s true, I guess no one can really tell for sure there won’t be a v4 someday

If a new major change needs to happen, like a new technology or way to dispatch/store data or whatever… a v4 could come to existence.

I’d say that is much more likely to take place as an evolution of the V3 platform. as it doesn’t suffer from fundamental flaws that V2 had, it can evolve to improve towards the future.
Ditching the entire codebase is costly and furthermore it would require customers to migrate to the new platform. So unless new fundamental problems somehow arise at a later stage, it’s always going to be better to evolve what we have now.
