Disk space used does not seem to be correct

I have noticed that the GBh for disk space used does not seem to be correct. I started this month with at least 25GB of disk space used, according to the dashboard API. After the first day I should have 25GB * 24 hours = 600GBh however the dashboard API is showing only 400GBh for the first day. Any idea where I might be going wrong or if there is an issue?

you could have only 16GB data and other 9 in trashbean then they not be payd.

Seeing how I have 100% uptime there should not be much in the trash + the node is less than a month old. Is there anyway for me to check how much is in the trash?

The first day of the month is not finished in terms of accounting. Just wait one additional day and than you can take a look. The rollup service might be running at 23:59 and sum up used space from one day earlier. At the same time another satellite might have run it at 1:00 which will give you a result somewhere between 0 and your real usage.

whatch on hdd there should be trash folder, and storj testing garbige collector, thay all the time deleting something, that today going to trash for 7 days

Ok, I will check back when the data for the 3rd starts to come in, however I have noticed that even older dates had lower than expected usage.

It looks like i have 1.6GB in the trash, thx for the help, I will keep an eye on this too.

16K ./lost+found
29G ./storage/blobs
1.6G ./storage/trash
4.0K ./storage/temp
4.0K ./storage/garbage
31G ./storage
31G .

After monitoring my storage for a full day + an extra 24 hours for satellites to report, here are my findings.

Starting Point: 31GB * 24 Hours = 744GBh
Based off logs: 819GBh +/- 24GBh for rounding errors
Reported by satellites: 510GBh

The reported number falls in line with what I have been noticing, it’s about 60% of what it should be, 510GBh * 1.6 = 816GBh. I am noticing this behavior on my main node, Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS, and I believe the other node that I have offsite, Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS, which I will start monitoring.

for some reason i think satelite only accunt gigabytes that was on storage full 24h.
if you got data today, it not accounted, it start account it only from GMT 0 to next GMT0
that why it not show first day when you getting data that there is some GBh

Even if that was the case, a jump from 510GBh to 744GBh in one day would be quite high. My current average between each day for this month is about 53GBh.

744Gbh - 510Gbh = 234GBh or 234GBh / 24h = 9.75GB
Why do you think it is too high?
The usage is not predictable, we have a deal with data of living people. They can use the network when and how they want.

and last day of year was very high data trafic.

I have waited an additional 24 hours to see the next days total GBh and it end it up being 606GBh still less then 819GBh.

I compared the logs of this node with another node. The other node showed the correct amount. I am not sure where the issues was but I ended up killing off this node. I think it might have had to do with running on older version of Ubuntu(16).
