Download Timeouts - what can I do?

I’ve found this:

… and enabled UDP port forwarding on my router.
It still works - not sure if this will have a positive or negative impact.

This will almost certainly not solve your problem, but it’s a good step to take either way as UDP may be more used in the future to eliminate TCP handshake overhead in the protocol.

could it help to set the DNS to 1.1.1.1 and do not trust the provider’s DNS? I’ve read sth about that here in the forum, but cannot remember, if it’s advisable or not. before running a Storj node, I have experienced a lower overall network performance with that and it was fine again with the provider’s DNS. indeed, it was another provider as well.

also, I am not sure about the ipv6 settings in the router. native ip4 or ip6 settings? ds lite, AFTR, DoT, DHCPv6 - cryptographic for me.

I think you would see different errors if DNS were the issue. But it can’t hurt and 1.1.1.1 is a good choice. It may even speed up your DNS traffic.

Don’t worry about IPv6 for now. All Storj satellites are IPv4 only atm, so it’s no use setting that up.
