I saw that Ethereum Freedom Browser was launched and uses Filecoin. Can’t it use Storj Network instead? They even plan to incentivise users with crypto earnings, like ETH, Filecoin, etc. Storj token would be perfect for this. Again we are late to the party…
Is it this thing? I didn’t see mention of Filecoin: but these days I guess you can bridge almost-anything almost-anywhere 
Will be interesting to check back in six months and see what they’ve cooked up. Nothing to do with Storj, but I wish them success!
Ah yeah… IPFS exists entirely independent of Filecoin. Normal users pay for a pinning service to keep data around. But you could also pay for Filecoin (or Arweave or whoever) for persistence too. Another newcomer in the paid-decentralized-storage game is Dig, which should have their beta out shortly.
Storj will never play in that market, because the Satellites are centrally controlled. But that’s what S3 customers want: part of their payments to go to a vendor responsible for keeping things running and providing a higher tier of service.
Also storj depends on google services (spanner).
It can also run on PostgreSQL and CockroachDB, just Spanner is faster at the moment.
