I think the main thing why they say 10% is cause of garbage collecting and I assume the larger the drive the larger the garbage but yeah I dont see saving 1TB for a 10TB hard drive as you would be losing alot of use able space.

Thank you for the info. I’ll think I’ll take your numbers (300 to 400 GB) and run around that level of free space. I watch my node so I can adjust should things start to creep up.
& database files & log files if log is redirected to a file.
