Goodbye storj, it was a fun ride

My first contact with Storj must have been in 2018 or even a bit earlier, but I’ve been consistently running a storage node since 2021. Since then, I’ve cached out once in September 2023, earning 200€. That was enough to pay for the electricity that my very small, ultra low power home server (Intel NUC) with a USB hard drive consumed.

Since then, I have earned 66€ in the past 14 month, and that is only because of the recent price hike. Had I sold every month (without fees for moving and selling storj) it would have been closer to 35€. This is currently not worth it for me. I am reaching full usage on my hard drive, and I will start shrinking my node to make space. Once I am down to a number where it’s not worth the hassle of keeping the machine online, I will exit and finally configure my machine to spin down the hard drive when it’s not in use.

I hope that you guys can continue to make some profits and have fun along the way, good bye!
