It’s not entirely public, how far along in the hash store conversion we are.
If you’ve not done anything yourself, there have been three stages:
- Testing: Where a handful of nodes were selected, and wrote new pieces to hash store
- Passive Migration: (We’re here now) New pieces are written to hash store, read pieces are converted to hash store. Pieces at rest stays in old piece store
- Active Migration: (Will come after a bit more testing): All remaining pieces are converted to hashstore.
When I say “it’s not entirely public”, what I mean is that in the beginning, a percentage of nodes were put from “test” to “passive migration” on saltlake. After that was a success, more nodes were done so.
To my knowledge, all nodes are on passive migration on all satellites at the moment, but this is not confirmed.
