How does Storj Labs estimate the Storj coin value when paying SNO?

Hi,

I know that Storj Labs pays each SNO for the month in STORJ, based on the month earnings in $.
So I was wondering how does Storj Labs get the value of STORJ at that time?

Does the Satellite get the value on well-known Echanges platform, as Coinbase or something like that? Or a DEX?

As far as I know, the https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/storj/ has been used on date of the payout. The payment process requests the current rate, but I do not know, how often.

If I remember right someone mentioned it was every 5 minutes. I know for sure it was quite often.
