I need numbers. Like “on ext4 the filewalker worked for the US1 satellite (4TB) around 4 hours, with my proposed solution it is finished one hour earlier”, otherwise it’s just a theory, sorry.

Testing was conducted on the remaining free space using FIO. The testing parameters were as follows:
fio --name=fiotest --filename=${DESTINATION_DIR}/fio.img --size=128GB --rw=randrw --bs=128K --direct=1 --rwmixread=25 --ioengine=libaio --iodepth=32 --group_reporting

for each option to be able to compare.

I am very sorry man. I cant help you. I only have been reading about it. I am almost not noticing those walks you are referring to.
