Is this basically the same what Storj offers with Object Mount and Production Cloud? Or where is the difference?
You need to download a whole object before starting to use. It’s basically the same as using rclone mount with a vfs cache.
The Object Mount allows you to work with the object, like it’s already downloaded, but it downloads only needed part during modification. Also speed of OM is much higher and it has full POSIX compatibility.

Well Suite states as well:

5 things come into my mind when I see their offering and their pricing page Suite Studios Pricing – Cloud Storage & File Streaming Plans
- If there is huge difference what Storj offers, then Storj website should make it clear where the USP of Storj solution is.
- As Suite offers a solution also for customers to bring their own object storage provider, it may be of interest to look at their customer list. It seems they launched their solution already in 2023 so maybe it is interesting to see what customers they were able to attract so far and how they market it.
- Maybe potential customers of them would like to use Suite with Storj Storage, so might be worth to have a look and optimize Storj to work with Suite too
- Suite seems to offer cloud storage as part of their solution too, maybe they would be interested to store on Storj?
- Acquire them.

Here’s some more what I have found. It looks like one can buy storage for the use with Suite on AWS marketplace.
So as said maybe Suite would be even interested to do something similar with Storj Storage?
Also the storage category on AWS marketplace might be an interesting source to harvest for either similar products or other products or companies that require S3 storage for possibly getting in touch with them for potential partnership.
Other idea: I don’t know exactly how the AWS marketplace works. But Storj has these BYOS products like Object Mount or GPU Compute that can be used independently from Storj Storage. Has Storj ever thought of setting up an AWS marketplace account and selling these products from there or even reselling AWS S3 storage to customers who cannot switch to Storj Storage? This could help to make potential users more aware of Storj and reselling AWS (or other) S3 storage could even generate additional revenue from AWS commissions for Storj.
Very interesting to learn more about Suite Studios:
There is a long youtube talk with one of the founders at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P15t-xeRVTE from 3 years ago. This is very interesting and gives a lot of background information about their ideas, their vision and their connections within the industry.
It seems back then they started their product with streaming workstations from the cloud. Apparently this has changed to a locally mount based technology. Their knowledgebase has more on the technical aspect and the features of the product: Getting Started | Suite Studios Knowledge Base
It looks a bit like a mixture between Storjs Object Mount and the Storj based beamtransfer.io offering but also with unique features that Storj does not have and maybe shall be implemented.

Their showcase of previous work and clients looks really interesting. And it totally seems that they share the same vision like Storj with their Production Cloud and Object Mount products. However Suite seems to rely on traditional cloud object storage providers unless customer brings its own. This could make Suite Studios a natural partner and potential customer and/or even a reseller of Storjs Distributed Storage. Storjs globally fast worldwide uploads and downloads and global distribution at lower cost without duplicating everything for redundancy should be a perfect fit as storage partner for them.
So as Suite Studios will also be presenting on NAB 2025 in New York from October 22-23 just like Storj, maybe Storj people can check out their booth and get in touch with them.
And if there is no way to partner with them, they must be considered as a potentially strong competitor with a very comparable product fueled by the same vision and directed at the same potential clients. And also with a significant three-year head start with its product.

Anyways, same as previously said applies to here. Maybe they or their clients are a natural fit for Storjs distributed storage product. They offer BYOS as well, so maybe it shall be made sure that Storj products can work with their solutions and vice versa.

We have such cloud NAS implementations a long time ago 
, but it’s a niche product.
I would say that we replacing CEPH and other similar solutions with Storj too, but this is a niche product too.
I am not sure whether they offer a cloud NAS or if the just name it as such so potential customers grasp the basic immediately. What they advertise sounds familiar to what we have heard:
Shade mounts to your computer like a local drive, so you can use and share cloud files without downloading or syncing first.
Anyways it does not matter. With self-claimed 10k customers I would not call it a niche product.
Their knowledgebase has a section for customers who bring their own storage: https://academy.shade.inc/byos/ . Maybe Storj could be listed in that section too it seems there is some demand for external storage. So why not invite them over to the Storj booth at NAB 2025 in New York and present Storj Distributed Storage to them and the reselling opportunities or if they want to use Storj as storage backend?
Because currently we working with M&E. Of course, we offer all other options too, just not promote them yet.
