Migration vs. Graceful Exit and Re-enrollment

Looking for advice:
To make a long story short, the computer and drive my current node are operating off of are starting to get up there in years and I’m looking to build or purchase a new machine to host off of.
I’m planning on continuing to be a node hoster, but I’d like to know if it would be better to try and migrate the data from the current node over to the new machine manually (likely copying over my local network), or if it would be better to perform a graceful exit and then start a new node on my new machine.

Collecting data is a slow process, I would definitely migrate to prevent having to start over.
