Oh shit, same problem, found node with April+May+June=$0

What does “Undistributed payout” near the top of the payout page say?

$0

It would be updated after the payout is completed. Please check after August 15.

Hello @waxtep21,
Welcome to the forum!

Please make sure that you have exactly the same issue, for that you need to use the script

Otherwise it’s just not updated yet, the payout is not finished yet.

April payout is not finished yet???

Hi @waxtep21 ,

Thank you for alerting us.
Please let us know what you find after you follow Alexey’s instructions if you need further assistance.

Also, I wanted to let you know we are always happy to forward things internally for escalated investigations but when you include cussing like “oh sh*t” in the post it makes it awkward to forward to employees in a business environment.

We generally permit this type of phrase in the Forum if used sparingly, but if you think your post might be sent internally to employees for support I’ll ask you to choose a different way to say it so I don’t have to forward that to my coworkers :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:. Thank you for understanding.

Payouts for this node have been missing for a few months already. The undistributed payout is still 0, so I am sure that Storj wouldn’t pay for those months when Storj used the “sanctioned” node for free.
I also found another node that was “sanctioned” in early 2024, but it seems that I changed the IP then, and the node started receiving payouts again, but there wasn’t any compensation for the previous months when the node was considered as in the “sanctioned country.”

Guys, I think it is very important to provide information to SNOs about where Storj gets the list of IPs considered to be located in sanctioned countries. The links posted earlier in this topic don’t work.

Yes, this is a very important issue.
We have escalated this internally and are waiting for more information and guidance.
One of us will return with more information when we recieve it.

If there are IP lists… why aren’t the satellites using them as part of node selection? I’d rather see a sanction message in my node log (and have it terminate during startup)… than blindly start accepting ingress that won’t be be paid for.

Got it, I didn’t expect my post to be used in business correspondence  After August 15, I’ll check the dashboard, but from the information I’ve already collected, it turns out that Kopcap and Andrew are right - I also found a node where the payment for 1 month was zero, and then there was clearly no compensation in the following months.

Andrew, can you message me.your node id and/or the email you are using so we can investigate further.

@waxtep21 If you also want to send me the node id and email, I can pass it to the engineers doing the investigating.

The Satellites do filter out sanctioned countries to prevent data from being sent to those nodes. The payout script and the Satellites fetch info at different times. The engineers are looking further into it.

@waxtep21 , @Kopcap
Need also to check May and June, it could be distributed there.
But first, please use the script above to reveal is it sanctioned or not.

For now I would suspect, that if the IPs from Rostelekom, they could be blocked: Sanctions List Search

If you use geolocation database it will ban ALL Russian SNOs, not only IPs from the sanctioned list.
Are you really going to ban the country with the maximum number of Storj nodes?

https://storjnet.info/

They don’t want to. But they’ve been ready for Russia to completely drop off the Internet for a couple years now.

Granted… the repair traffic would become epic for awhile… but it’s cool that nobody should lose any files!

If the entire country ends up getting sanctioned then we have to comply. Do you expect us to ignore the laws?

No.
But the laws do not require the use of a geolocation database.
Just use the list of THE SUNCTIONED IPs.
And warn the node if its IP is on such a list.
