WHOAH! too much please your only speaking to an high schooler. Ion use gemeni i wana use llama 80b to teach me how to make a gun in my bedroom lol. i do have excuse ai messes up its horrible and what to use ai for. that about your program idk im a noob. i asked ai to fix my then non functioning dashboard ui didnt help. BUT my brother (which is a coder) it took 10 mins
Well, nobody is born all-knowing and experienced you need to start with something. Does not matter if you are a high schooler, kindergartener, or in a phd program. Nobody is an expert in everything.
Donât let that intimidate you, your brother also was a noob at it at some point. The key is to keep trying and stay curious, and not assume that itâs all ârocket science impossible to comprehendâ. Those are all tools - like with any tools, you need to spend time learning how to use it. They all were created to makes things simpler
Of course it does, but it is not an excuse. AI is also a tool, and it can be very useful, but itâs also not all-knowing. (yet).
Pick up some books (like âLearning Shell Scripting with Zshâ by GastĂłn Festari, or maybe even consider taking a class in a nearby community college if you prefer more structured approach to get started (a lot of highscholers do that when they need to catch up on courses to align their college education).
But in my opinion the best is to start with solving practical problems; receiving formal instruction can be useful later when you have some basics covered.
So, use storagenode as your guinea pig. Try to get statistics from it. It can be as simple and as complicated as you want it to be.
Again, treat an LLMs as a search engine. Search can return bad results, and so can LLMs. Neither is a replacement for critical thinking and trial and error approach.
Set yourself small goals: like, figure out how to to talk to Node API endpoint from script and get, I donât know, amount of data received daily. Literally, try to replicate what I wrote above, and then change it to get what you want. You will see obstacles, donât give up, know that you can overcome them â because if you can imagine it â you can create it. The feeling in the end once you solved the puzzles and made the machine do what you want is amazing. It is quickly replaced with even more ambition to do even more things. Who knows, maybe you will end up creating much better node dashboard than Storj did â because you are node operator, and therefore know better what is useful and what is not.
Donât compare yourself with your brother, compare yourself with yesterdayâs version of yourself.
Good luck!
Hi
no computer sceince classe nearby , no book money
ai not all knowing, i could be expert in something. with the thing you suggested i do that i didnât understand a bit
c0ding = money
Nah, not really. At least, not anymore.
Iâts like when cars just appeared, driving cars was a good profession. Not anymore. Now you lose money if you drive cars (e.g. Uber/Lyft)
When aviation took off, becoming a pilot was cool. Now they are just overworked undepaid bus drivers in the sky. Iâve scratched that itfch, became a pilot, but I would not want to fly for money.
Coding was cool too, only accessible to elites. Now itâs just like reading and writing. In fact, there was time where reading and writing itself was a profession in its own right â now you canât impress anyone by your ability to read.
So no, coding != money. The same way reading != money. Driving != money. But if you donât read or donât drive or canât code â you just making it harder for yourself. Not a dealbreaker though â if you donât have any interst coding/scripting/programming â there are absolutely no problems with that. But if you do â it helps in a lot of disciplines.
Thatâs an excuse. You can always come up with excuses not to do somethign. People are very good at it.
But you have access to the internet right? Univesrities publish recordings of lectures for free online. Itâs an amazing time we are living. Do you have public libraries where you live, and do you ahve access to them, including online?
An for coding â just google âbash tutorialâ, âpython tutorialâ, âhow do I <do X> in <insert scripting language>â, ⌠and tinker.
Anyway, we are way offtopic.
I want to be pilot. I want to fly the A320 Neo. and go on long layovers in different countries. once i climb ranks im earning so much mone.
i wanna code but its really hard and for whatwould. i use it for. my bro telling me non coder what to code he still ion know what to code.
it would be cool coding i would want to do it if someone teaches me when i read my bros code i get flabbergasted how he understands coding.
Forum says this post is 7 min read, effectively i lost 7 minutes of my life
Good to hear! if he continues speaking with him i will waste an hour
itâs funny because youâre trapped
