# Storj is moving node operator payouts and customer deposits to USDC

I’ve figured out the reason - [satellite/compensation: prepayment for nodes staying in the network · storj/storj@f4883c3 · GitHub](https://github.com/storj/storj/commit/f4883c3)  
If your node has reached the 16-month mark by the time the calculation is made, you will receive a prepayment that compensates for July.  
If your node has not yet reached 16 months, you will receive even less than what you actually earned that month.
