Storj joins Inveniam to accelerate innovation

I hope the buyout is intended to allow the community to acquire a portion of Storj or decision-making rights, perhaps even manage some departments.
Details are not yet available. I find the idea appealing, but perhaps it would be better implemented through the Community, for example, as a single investor, where all actions would be transparent, and all ideas would be discussed and put to a vote before any decisions were made. So the control of this process would be on the Community as well.

A portion or all of it?

This is the problem.

I wonder if that would work. I have some doubts there.

Please, suggest your ideas. I don’t have a clear picture, just puts ideas, which may help.

The company. I think you mean what portion of money? I don’t have an answer on it, I have no internal information.

So the entire company?
If that’s the case then the acquisition by Inveniam was a complete disaster.

As said many times. It is hard to make useful suggestions without the full picture.

But it is hard to imagine to build a thriving companies with more or less unregulated form of participation of thousands of token holders.
Also what kind of appearance will that create to potential customers?
Even the SNOs are heterogenous and discussions here show how divers the ideas are. So I believe it will be extremely difficult to find overlapping positions.

Maybe searching for real investors or merging with other projects is an option?
If I remember correctly, the Inveniam acquistion took place while negotiating with a VC. Maybe those could be resumed?

I don’t know. Normally owners appoint management and management runs the company. But as long as we don’t know how owns what, what suggestion can be made?

I don’t see us, operators, put money into it independetly and take ownership. It’s to complicated, too many unknowns and not clear gains.
Only solution I see for this to work is that somebody, maybe an US citizen or business, applies for crowdfunding to us, we SNO put some tokens into their account, they aquire a share of Storj of at least 51%, take control, and we gain the right to vote for every decition from now on.

please only not voting. Steem com had voting of the maintainers, and result was most of the voters don’t care, so even great ideas wasn’t approved, because not enough Quorum.
The best idea is holacracy system, when if someone wants to do something, is allowed to take responsibility and do it by him self and even get help or funds from company budget, under condition no one makes a solid objections (its a process of consultations).
You can downlaod short version of the book with examples what companys function that way, and whats are their results from for example: https://www.reinventingorganizations.com/pay-what-feels-right.html
@jammerdan for customers that could be displayed positively, a company who changed for better management system, modern and much agile

In my opinion the only reason for spreading the CBO proposal was buying time in order to prevent network and token vom collapsing instantly. It has never bean a realistic outcome and they know.

Token holders were the original investors but they got screwed by this company.

Investors in hype and delusions? Token was never a share in the company. What do you think those ā€œinvestorsā€ were ā€œinvestingā€ into? The word you are looking for is ā€œgamblingā€

They sold $30MIL worth of tokens at startup, how did you think they were able to fund all this for many years? Are you delusional?

Without sales of tokens in their 2017 run this entire company wouldn’t even exist, sno’s would get nothing, none of this. The ā€œgamblersā€ helped carry this company, and since there aren’t many ā€œgamblersā€ left, storj wants to find a replacement asking the sno’s to contribute like how the holders did. You can bash on the holders all you want I’m sure it will help their cause lol.

They capitalized on the crypto market, betting that crypto bros will ā€œinvestā€ into anything. And they did. And it paid off. It worked for Storj. Does not mean it ever was a sound investment. That’s definition of gambling – buying nonsense and hoping to sell it to the greater fool

Token served its purpose to bootstrap the company. It is no longer needed. The issue here is not token, it’s marketing and customers or lack thereof. You may have noticed the service is priced in USD and operator compensation is USD denominated. Token is a value transfer vehicle, atrocious one, because of volatility, but nevertheless nothing more than that.

Storj doesnt need enemies when they have SNO’s like you.

Kraken reported $180k sales of storj in the last 48 hours. I guess there still people out there buying and helping, wait until they read the sno’s comments on these forums.

Very altruistic of them I’m sure.

So… their solid investment plan can be invalidated by comments on some forum?

I calc’d over 650-700 on sell side, what a nice pop they bought into illiquidity at an odd time (another corprate failure.),
can’t complain … made bank. 30% bank… Lets keep doing this guys, untill it’s under 1 cent. I would bow out then, it all becomes a shell company at that point. The only point where it starts to become attractive again (and only on the commodity side at that.). So… umm still time to short a position… or two. lol!

2 cents,

Julio
P.S. Yes, this is what it is guys.

Do you mean sellers or dollars? I’m asking because I don’t get what you are saying?

I know what he’s trying to say, but he’s just trolling mostly.

Maybe this gives the answer?

It’s a rumor, as well. Let’s wait for the court
See

Wow I didn’t know I could anonymously mail things to bankruptcy courts. imagine all the mischief I could cause.

They prefer it to be publicly revealed. Local laws can be very strange for non-residents.
Unfortunately, this can also lead to more paperwork and verification of the information provided.
