Yes, especially when taken out of the context and extrapolated to

Now it looks like you are suggesting lets get rid of the token, which would mean the value would tank to zero.
To state the obvious – I’m not suggesting to nuke the token. And if I did – there are other ways to accomplish that without “tanking it to zero” – like gradual phase out and buyout. IN fact, storj has already nuked the earlier version of the token in the past. It’s not a big deal.
I’m suggesting that one of the reasons the token exists that helped bootstrap the company is no longer a factor. If the token price goes to zero for whatever reason under marker forces it will have minimal effect on storj. Storj will likely support and use the token forever – because indeed why not. But they don’t have to.

Following such schema anybody could generate money from thin air and that wouldn’t be koscher I assure you.
This is literally a definition of how cryptocurrencies work and how many gamblers traders (lol) made quite a bit of money (and others – lost). The price is reflecting belief that the holder can sell the asset when perceived future value the users of ecosystem would eventually converge on will be higher than today.
Token is not a cryptocurrency though, in the SEC definition, but I’m not a lawyer and this is not a legal advice.
