Hi, I just saw this PR [satellite/attribution: remove BackfillPlacementBatch · storj/storj@c0a7c7e · GitHub](https://github.com/storj/storj/commit/c0a7c7e87098d03157b239135b87d5ae1c7d841e).

Am I reading this correctly:

- you add a custom command to run batch backfill on production
- you run the command
- then you remove the command?

The problem is: how does 3rd satellite operator know about any of this, this should be done in migration, if the data was too great for database to handle, maybe in a small batch loop and double check after the loop end to ensure it correctness?

If I don’t know about these practice when operating satellite - It would be terrifying 🤯.

BUT, thank you for this software and for releasing it as opensource 🙂.

I guess that mistake is on me. In the past we have published the changelog here in the forum. It was tagged and I believe you can subsribe to that tag to get a notification every time a new version gets posted. I just haven’t done it for the last 2 releases. I might not find time for it this week but I promise I am going to fix that.
