Update 3TB to 10TB / "Action": "PUT_REPAIR", "Available Space": 5221351379200}|

Hello everybody

was able to convert my update from 3TB to 10TB yesterday, but now I still have these messages in my log.

Question, is this just for information or does my server have a problem?

Thanks for your inputs, I’m writing another article about: TB Update without stress under Windows 10! :grinning:

Thanks Greetings from Switzerland, hafdan

PUT_REPAIR and GET_REPAIR are part of the network keeping data healthy. It’s actually your node helping out with issues on other nodes.

I’ll try to explain it shortly. If nodes leave the network, or go offline or into suspension, the pieces they have get marked as lost. When too few pieces are available to recreate the file, the satellite initiates a repair action. It downloads remaining pieces from good nodes that still have them (GET_REPAIR) and recreates the missing pieces. Then uploads them to new good nodes (PUT_REPAIR).

So your node is getting data from nodes that have left the network, gone offline or into suspension. There is nothing wrong with your node.

This is good news, the update of HDD was not without its problems.
