What happens if Storj ceases to operate as a company?

I’d be interested to know what happens if Storj, for x or y reason, closes its operations. Will the network continue to operate nevertheless? How will software updates be performed? Can another company/group of developers take over the development of Storj?

If satellite operators would run their satellites and there would be customers, the network survive.
The Storj code is an open source, everyone can continue to develop it:
