When will "Uncollected Garbage" be deleted?

Is it safe to say files older than 7 Days can be deleted?

If the undeleted trash directories are causing problems, you can rm -rf them yourself. If the timestamp from the directory name is more than 7 days ago, this will be 100% safe to do.

Folders which are not named yyyy-mm-dd (aka two letterfodlers) are leftovers which can be removed?

AFAIK these will not be deleted as they only have 2-letter names. But you can create a date folder like 1970-01-01 and move them into it.Then the trash chore will pick it up. Make sure you don’t create any nested subfolders in a date folder though.

Huh, I wasn’t aware of those. That would definitely break trash collection.
