For example, right now, a ton of space is being eaten up because you broke the trash (bloom filters). Why did you decide that reducing SNO payments is a great idea to solve all your problems? Maybe I can suggest a better idea: fire the sales and marketing people on your team? They obviously don’t know how to do anything anyway. Or is this some kind of fancy scheme for softly shutting down the project? That won’t work. Alpharabbit won’t let you close, they’ll store 400 TB for free

The bulk of paying users are on Select. Their nodes are in datacenters. There are many datacenters across the world who are happy to monetize spare idle capacity at the fraction what home users with raspberry pies demand. This is already working.

Public network will die, it was a proof of concept. It worked. Real network will be run on nodes distributed across real datacenters earning carbon offsets and minor nominal fee that is a far cry of what noisy and entitled SNOflakes demand here.

What is wrong with you? Stop spouting this nonsense about the whole network relying on free space on grandmas’ old PCs. That narrative has been bullshit for a long time now. What percentage of the network do those SNOs actually make up? 5%? 10% at most? Storj is not a “set-it-and-forget-it” project. Very few people are going to waste their time just to earn pennies for 0.5-5 TB of space. Without SNOs who are willing to invest real time and money to store hundreds of terabytes, Storj is a dead project. Sorry to burst your bubble, but that’s just the hard truth.
