Can we delete the blob-*.partial files in temp yet?

Seems like the temp folder on at least one of my nodes has 14k files, but doesn’t seem to have been updated since mid-2024. Is this folder still used with hashstore? Can I safely delete it?

I see other people have asked about this, but those look like pre-hashstore where it might have actually been in use.

Edit: same question for the blobs directory - what is still in use nowadays? Just the hashstore directory?

You can remove files older than 72h from that folder.

All new files are going to hashstore + SNs try to migrate old date.

Still you may have old data on bloblstore which is important.

What about /data/storage/trash ? I’ve got some folders in there from beginning of 2026.

I think the file modification time is more important than the folder modification type. But it’s safe to delete any trash file which is >10 days old.

Why these things aren’t deleted automatically?

Because the fact that they stay undeleted is an evidence of something having happened that was outside of expected path. Deleting them would be swiping the issue under the rug.

Trash is deleted automatically. if you have leftover files it means something has interrupted the normal process. Investigate what it was.

I have four folders in trash, all with different “last modified” dates. I looked at the last access date and it showed today.

Three of the folders were empty.

One of the folders has a multitude of folders named with a letter/number combo. These also show a last access date of today.

All of the files within those XX folders have a modified/last access date of sometime in 2024.
