Chia mining looks profitable? FORGET IT, if you was ther not in the begining, no way can win it

Someone on reddit reported they can do it in 24 minutes. Close. Soon everyone will need to replot

yay even more nvmes dead… and with k=33 we need even more temporary space right? so a 500GB nvme isn’t even enough anymore?

it will be interesting to see when the chia network will be forced to abandon k=32 plots

meanwhile, the exchange rate is down to $500
now down to $410

Just got an add from backblaze supporting 100TB of chia plots. Linux only I think.

HDD prices seem to go down as well.

Khe, khe, another report, 62 seconds this time.

1/512 is still there :joy:

What does that mean? Do think it means they can win once out of 512?

I have over 50 plots passing the filter for each signage point and i’m not winning many blocks lately. So even if you can bypass the 1/512 filter plotting on the fly … you would need to do this many many times to win a block.

XCH price going down, I believe that many farmers will drop some of their plots and will join storj

STORJ price is $0.85 from its ATH of $3.91 in March and probably next week it will go down hard again. New SNO’s needs to get vetted and it surely takes longer than Chia pool protocol is ready.
SNO’s with vetted nodes already moved back to Storj the HDDs used for Chia
With more than 100TB for mainnet launch i have some room to support Chia. HODL!

Storj value doesn’t matter for payout as you get the equivalent amount for the dollar value you’re owed. If the value is lower you just get more tokens. This is not the case with Chia. There is also a limited amount of Storj tokens. While Chia is endlessly inflationary. Chia has always been a race to the bottom. My mistake was to underestimate how far from that bottom they started off at. But I wasn’t wrong about the mechanics of the network driving income down hard.

That works if you sell the Storj payout every month and don’t hold it.
Anyways STORJ is just an utility token where 245M STORJ (from a total supply of 425M) are being managed by Storj Labs. Chia is a new concept of blockchain and it is really challenging. Maybe in few years Chia will be a blockchain for developers only, who knows, but at the moment it’s really exciting.
Chia gave me in one month more than 100x times the income of STORJ+SCJX in 5-6 years so maybe i am not partial :joy:

Sure, if you just judge it based on temporary high income. Then it doesn’t matter that the fundaments are shaky.

Sure. And after 2-3 years… all the data in your Storj nodes is real data or only “test” data?

I’m not having this discussion if you don’t understand the difference between a solid business model and an endlessly inflationary coin that has no real purpose that isn’t already covered by other blockchains. You do you.

STORJ model and Chia model have nothing to do… what differences are you talking about?
Chia Network Inc. raised around $60M in funding, around the double of Storj Labs Inc token sale target. It seems they also have solid business model.
And if you don’t know the purpose of Chia blockchain it seems you need to investigate more. Hint: power consumption.

Does that include the power used in manufacturing endless HDDs?

countless HDDs going to waste at chia, no purpose other than holding plots for farming. At least some of the data in storj is customer data. We shall see where things go in about 3-6 months from now, storj will be stable I predict
oh wow, XCH just fell to 274$

Of course, nothing compare to BTC or ETH ASIC manufacturing. Mountains of old useless ASICs… :joy:
