lol i thought storj was just doing false advertising but it look like it something more then that, Storj look like in US Atlanta, GA 30309, United States (As Storj Labs Inc) but there invoice show (Storj Labs International, SEZC) Grand Cayman KY1-1003, Cayman Islands, oh no, it look like a TAX haven, Shell Companies and money launderers Dreamland.

Hoho, the more I think about Storj move, the more amazing I think it is, for legitimate free user, pay a few cents and off you go.
But for abusers, the sheer number of CC card or the fee of tracsaction going to be devastating.
Look, we were in touch directly some time ago. But this is not about friendship. Im writing to you how I see it. In my view, those are the small letters @arrogantrabbit that you are referring to. Almost every agreement have this kind of paragraphs. From my perspective, it is a shaky ground to stand by it if you are a third person and dont know the whole story. In a sense that you dont know if this was done a) on purpose or b) by a mistake.
In the first case, on purpose, and data being kind of locked, requesting the payment to unlock, no emails, short periods, then, in many jurisdictions such a case would potentially be against the law.
In the second case, by mistake, imagine Oracle or Google doing such a mistake. Kind emails, kind messages on the forum, long transitory periods and all that jazz would be to be expected.
This way or another it is not a thing I would like to associate myself with. Thus I stand a firm position. They do as they wish, you do as you wish, but, again, I stand my critical position firmly.
P.S. FYI, I am also critical because I think that there is a problem almost on every side of this company, technology, node payments, users satisfaction, carbon footprint. And actually, carbon footprint looks even more shaky then data being kind of locked, but I am outsider, so cant comment on this in full in public.

That said, my two cents; I think free users should have been emailed. I would almost certainly have run into the same issue of locked account if I wasn’t active on the forum. Even though I was more than willing to pay. I had plenty of Storj balance to begin with, but legacy balance and no Pro account. I resolved that through a support ticket, but that took several days, which would have been painful if that happened while my account was locked. I also think users should have been given a little more time after initial notice.
However, I also recognize Storj Labs has no obligation to do this and users always have a responsibility to never store their data on a single service without an option to recover from elsewhere. In my case, it’s just backups that I still have local copies and my own local backups for. So I would have been okay.
I was a free user and I also received an email. But I also had storj balance, same as @BrightSilence, so maybe I wasn’t a completely free user.
The email provider getting rate limited could have been 1 of the reasons why some free tiers weren’t emailed. I think the page that shows the file/bucket being shared could be used as an alternate space to “advertise” such changes.
I had previously suggested that there is lot of free space on the shared link page and it should be used to the fullest.
The footer/header is an excellent place to advertise any changes like a banner with marquee text. The preview area could be shortened and that space could be used.
The idea being, users will see this space more often.
