Hi team,
We are currently migrating data from Storj to AWS as a backup. Based on the information in the screenshot below, my understanding is that the egress should be free. We are using the US-Select-1 storage tier; however, I still see egress charges being incurred.
Could you please help clarify why these charges are appearing and whether they are expected for our current setup?

Free 1x monthly egress traffic is included in the Global Collaboration and Regional Workflows tiers (available for projects created after November 1, 2025), but is not included in the legacy US1-Select tier projects created before November 1, 2025, and if you have never upgraded to tiered pricing.
If you’re actually using Regional Workflows rather than US1-Select, your free egress traffic will be equal to your monthly storage usage.
For example, if you upload 1 GB on the first day of the month and then remove 0.5 GB halfway through the month, your monthly storage usage will be calculated as follows: 1 GB * 1/2 + 0.5 GB * 1/2 = 0.75 GB-month. You’ll have 0.75 GB of free egress traffic, and everything else will be charged at $0.02 per GB.
Thanks Alexey, we have created our project before nov 1 2025 but one question how can we confirm if we have migrated to tier pricing? and can we migrate to tier pricing now? if yes do we incur any cost for migration from legacy to tiered pricing?
The automatic migration was planned on November 1, 2026, however, it’s now discarded and our new simplified pricing will start on July 1, 2026 and will replace all previous tiers.
You can make a support request using your account’s email address to migrate your current legacy projects to the tiered pricing, however, this is not reversible and will be applied starting beginning of the current billing period. It will work until July 1, 2026, so you will need to opt-in/opt-out before that. If you opt-out or do nothing, your account will be frozen on July 1, 2026 and will be deleted 45 days later.

You are welcome! Please note, opt-in/opt-out/ignore will not affect your current billing period, it will still use your current pricing. The opt-in/opt-out/ignore status will be in effect starting July 1, 2026.
