Email change necessary - Identity and node config?

Hello,
My email address will change in a while. The email address which I used to create my identity and which I used in the config for the node, will stop working in a while.

Is it necessary to create a new identity? Or do I have to update the identity?
What about the node config?

The changing email doesn’t require to create a new identity. The email address provided in the config (or docker run command) is used to send important alerts from the satellites.
It also may be omitted.
