Email question about "SNO Software Update"

Hi All,
Node operators used to receive an email from time to time with subject: “SNO Software Update …”
Quote:

Storage Node Operators,
Please update your node within the next 72 hours to prevent your node’s reputation from being affected.

Any node that doesn’t update won’t be able to connect to the network. Ahead of our production release, nodes participating won’t be penalized during downtime for network improvements.

What does the last sentence in this email exactly mean?
Does it mean that my node can be offline for 72 hours (instead of ~5) during an upgrade without impacting reputation?

Thanks for the answers in advance.

No. It means your node can be on the network with older version for those 72 hours. After 72 hours your node MUST update to latest version or it will be unable to connect with older version.

I mean what does the following mean?

I’m pretty sure that currently the penalty for downtime is disabled completely

The only ways to get disqualified are by failing audits below a threshold and low uptime. Currently disqualification for downtime is disabled till Storj implements a better method to implement it.
