Failed to ping storagenode

Hello,

I sometimes have problems with this error:

ping satellite: failed to ping storage node, your node indicated error code: 0, rpc: tcp connector failed: rpc: dial tcp x.x.x.x:28901: connect: connection timed out

It happens only sometimes. The provider where I’m hosting the node asks me for a mtr from the ip to my node. He suspects a firewall or routing issue. I don’t see the source ip in the log - only the satellite id.

Where can i find the source ips from the “monitoring agents” of the satellite? Is it the satellite itself e.g. eu1.storj.io or are there dedicated ips?

Thanks for helping me out

Satellites are a cluster and run at Google cloud (I think?) you can try mtr from major cloud providers. I doubt your issue would be specifically isolated to a single storj satellite instance.

Also I suspect your provider knows what’s up, or can find out, but instead gives your a fools errand.

On the other hand it is rare enough - ignore it. Anything can happen enroute.
