Hi All, I have attempted to register for the forum access yesterday a few times with different email addresses from different domains (including major providers, e.g. me.com/icloud.com, and custom domains with cloudflare forwarder) but the activation email never arrived. I did look in spam folder as well, it is still not there.
I ended up logging in via GitHub, but it needs to be looked at and fixed.

Did you try pressing the “resend” button to have it send the message again? In my tests sending to gmail, the first message appeared to be held in waiting until the second one got sent. Subsequent tests show that the email is getting sent and that according to https://www.mail-tester.com/test-1zvw3v3lf it shouldn’t get caught by (many) spam filters.
Please PM me the addresses and I’ll see what I can figure out, but I’m fairly certain that it’s not an issue on our end.

But email addresses are not secrets: alex @ saspus . com (my domain, MX is handled by cloudflare) and saspus @ me . com (Apple iCloud)
I’ve just tried again to re-send registration email and still nothing.
I’ve also tried gmail just now: saspus @ gmail . com
No email, nothing in junk either (except usual junk)

Ok, after a while an email sent to gmail dot com address arrived. The one to custom domain – did not. Neither did one to iCloud domain.
Opening an email in gmail I see that it failed DMARC (see below).
saspus dot com dmarc policy:

me dot com dmarc policy:
v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; sp=quarantine; ...
gmail dot com dmarc policy:
v=DMARC1; p=none; sp=quarantine;
So, google allowed it, but both my domain and iCloud should have quarantined it. And yet – it did not get to my Junk folder either. Not sure what’s up, but someone needs to fix DMARC at the sending side at least.

I changed the notification email address to storj@forum.storj.io and now DMARC is correct. Thanks very much for your complaint and problem solving!

I’ve attempted to get the email re-sent – and voila, it arrived instantly to my custom domain account on iCloud, all checks passing at all levels!
Still, I’m surprised that the emails were vanishing with no trace, provided the dmarc policy was to quarantine, not reject. I’ll try to find a way to reach out to iCloud support.
If you can fish out the message ID for the emails that were sent to my account previously that I never received so I could provide them with my support request and it may help them track down the path for those specific emails it would be helpful. If not, I’ll try to break DMARC on one of my other domains and reproduce
