hi team,
Noob question here. I made the mistake in adding more nodes when the first one wasn’t filled up yet. And now i need the hardware back for another project.
At least one of the nodes i want to retire from Storj is only running for 2 months, fully vetted and good uptime, but when i try to GE i’m not getting any satellites I can exit from.
I assume that is because the node hasn’t been running yet for long enough.
How do I perform an exit then?
just turn it off?
Is a GE not needed for nodes younger than 6 months?

As your node does not meet the GE requirements (Graceful Exit Guide (new procedure as of 2023-10-?)), your only option to exit the network is to simply turn off the node.
The only issue with this, is that you will not be able to reclaim the held back payments from the previous 2 months for that node. Also note that if you want to start a node later on, you will have to create a new identity as well. This would also be the case even if you do GE.
Thanks for confirming that. I read that pinned article but for some reason i couldn’t get the command to work from within docker (this node is on a QNAP NAS). So when I finally got it to work from outside of docker, with config and identity dirs and then not getting any satellites, I thought it was me.
Ok for the new identity and missed held back payments.
