Hello,
my disk has been broken in the middle of the month, what’s happen to payout ?
I will be paying for the hearing till when node was up?
thx
Yes. As you’ll be paid for the time the node did function properly.
Yes, the payout will be accounted for the usage before the outage, however the amount withheld will be used to pay for the egress of repairers and to pay for the nodes that will provide repair traffic to restore and distribute the missing pieces to other nodes.
I think you will be even paid till about a month later, your drive is being disqualified. It takes about 34 days to get there (3% a day, assuming you started with about 100%). You only don’t have egress fees. And in the mean time also customers will delete some data that was on your node. But that means about data * $1.5/TB.
This is not how it works. If the node is DQ, no more activities from the satellite, the node will be banned. So they can use a How To Forget Untrusted Satellites instruction for that satellite.
But if the node is not DQ yet, then yes, there could be activities, uploads/downloads/garbage collection/etc.
The payout period is the first two weeks of every month, so if the undistributed amount can clear a Minimum Payout Threshold on the selected network, it will be send. Otherwise it would be kept as Undistributed payout, until it would be enough to clear a Minimum Payout Threshold.
That’s the point. As soon as your hard disk breaks, it will take about a month to get DQ-ed (assumed it was 100% online before). Although there wil be no activities, it will virtually remain in the network till then. I even would advice not to try to repair the node, if you think more than 3% of data is gone. Since you will be DQ-ed earlier if you bring it online again, and by audits the satellite will find out the data is gone.
Otherwise tell me what’s not working this way here…
Yes, here you are correct. If the HDD is died, but the node is not DQ yet, it would look normal. However, as soon as you bring it online but without even 4% of its data - it will be DQ almost instantly.
However, if you didn’t bring it online, then yes - it would take 30 days for the satellite to DQ it.
