Hi, I was moving some programs around and accidentally deleted some folders I’m not super proud of it.
One of the deleted folders contained my identity files. Is there any way to get them from new out start from 0 ? I just wanted to ask before I do anything even more stupid.
I guess the simple answer is to restore the identity files from backup (they haven’t changed: even old ones work).
Every bit of data the Storj Satellites think you hold is tied to your node identity. So without that identity the node is effectively dead. I think your only option is to start over with a fresh-node/fresh-identity.
But maybe a Storjling will pop in with some magic procedure…
If you don’t have a backup copy, then you may try to use a recovery tools, if you didn’t rewrite this disk yet, sometimes it could be possible to recover deleted files.
