Impostor scam on Facebook - what you need to know

We’ve received reports recently that a scam on Facebook, posing as our company, is targeting community members with a scam. Please protect yourself against fraud!

Here’s what to watch for:

  • Scammers scrape Facebook to find members associated with the real Storj page
  • Target-message are then sent to each user from a fake Storj Labs facebook page, with instructions how to supposedly get 10k STORJ.
  • If user responds, they will try to convince them to send them ETH or BTC in order to supposedly get back three times the tokens.

Here’s what to do:

  • If you have received these scam messages report the message to Facebook, as ¨Fraud or Scam¨ (hidden option under ¨others¨). Then block the sender.

Storj Labs has already reported this scam to Facebook, but the more people report the faster it will get taken down.

The official Storj Facebook page has this URL: https://www.facebook.com/storjproject/
It is 5 years old. If you see a page with a different URL, it is fake
