Introducing Storj Select: Revolutionizing Cloud Storage

Interesting indeed! However it does look like it will take some time for a tier to affect regular SNOs
Great to see StorJ getting better recognition and better opportunities

It’s likely will not affect a regular SNO, because it’s a required to have a SOC2 certification.

What does SOC2 mean. How can I join

SOC2 is not a certification, it is an auditing standard and the Storj people throw around the term very casually. An enterprise will often want some form of attestation that a supplier is meeting minimal requirements. A SOC 2 (usually SOC 2 Type II) is preferred and done by an accounting firm that will periodically test for having the needed governance and evidence in place and then issue a report on behalf of the supplier. Using a data center with SOC2 is not even close to acceptable. Typically to be considered reasonable a SNO would need both their data center and the software service (Storj) to both have SOC2 Type II annual reports available.

can you add us-select-1 satellite to storjshare? It would be nice to see how it is doing relative to other satellites

No.
You can try, but it will reject your node without proper marking on Storj’s side; it’s also prohibited to be connected to both networks.
