Is there any way I can request the network to move the data from my wonky node A to B and/or C

Hi.

I’m currently operating 3 nodes. My first node (A) however is running on medium good hardware with a
crappy setup and fails a lot of audits etc (99% audits, 95% uptime checks).
My 2 newer nodes (B & C) are running on much more desirable connections, hardware and setup topologies.

Needless to say I want to retire node A
.
Is there any way I can request the network to move the data from my wonky node A to B and/or C, at least when then new nodes reach a certain reputation?

Will graceful exit have an option for me to decide which node(s) i want the data moved to if certain
network criteria for that node is met of course?

graceful exit will let you retire node A but you have no control over the target nodes.

Okay, I’m turning this into a feature request. Sooner or later all SNO’s will face the fact that a node is under performing or making bad hard drive noises or showing other hints of imminent failure. As a SNO the data on that node did take some time and effort to collect, just letting all of it go back onto the network might feel hard for someone. Of course moving the node to new hardware is an option, but also a process with a lot of potential failure modes that will ultimately end in total loss of the data anyway. I bet a good percentage of the data on any node will be eligible for transfer to a node behind the same public IP or operated by the same SNO.

or as part of graceful exit of an old node to transfer its data under the exit to the same owner operator of a newer hardware node thru the intranet of said sno not have to use the network bandwidth while the Storj customer will still be able to access their data while the transfer is active, and no I’m not capable to design that software

It is simple to do. Just stop Node, copy all data to new location, start under old indentity, kill all pc, start new pc, all working, just takes some time.

2.5 TB of data takes a long time to copy and the stoped node fail a lot of audits

rsync will help you to do this without a huge downtime:
