Low storage / bandwidth usage

Hello!

I am running the node on my Synology DS918+ with docker. Everything works “fine” so far, except that mostly no Bandwidth and storage get used.
I have 300Mbit down and 30Mbit up, and 13TB of free storage.

This is how my dashboard looks at the moment:

Is this behavior normal? This are my audits:

btw: what does the “alpha” mean?

Thank you and br,

Welcome. Keep in mind that how much data is downloaded from your node is closely related to how users use the network.

Hi Xen, and welcome!

It typically takes a month to vet your node on the satellites. So your first month you would have seen about 5% of the traffic you would normally see. Your node has been vetted on 3/4 satellites, which happens once you reach 100 successful audits. The 118 satellite is a testing sat which has not been used much in January, hence the lower amount of audits. You have no failed audits, which is the most important thing.

The alpha value is a function of the successful audits. I can’t remember off the top of my head how this is calculated, but the ideal value is 20.

Edit: This post gives a link to a very technical explanation of alpha and beta scores
