M&E now has local access to the distributed cloud

Now, THATS what i wanted to have from the beginning! very NICE!
is it free for storj Windows users?

Now my dream is to be able to move all disk C: files to a bucket and run a computer diskless
All from cloud. So i can run my windows instance and disk’s on ANY computer around the globe, just having to have a good fiber internet connection, that would be NEAT.

I understand that first a computer would need somehow a cunoFS installed first, not sure how that could be done on a disk less computer i guess some disk should always be there first to install the cunoFS at least, lol.

But for D: partition and rest: Imagine eliminating the need to having a stationary HDDs!
You just could have unlimited space in cloud and pay only for used space!
No need to buy any HDDs anymore and having to deal with unused space!
(e.g.when You buy a 16TB HDD, and You really use like only 1 TB max, or when You suddenly need 20TB for short time, but You have only 16TB disk! - the cloud as local file system comes handy!)

Imagine the cloud storing all Your important files all the time so You don’t have to worry about any backups, because its by default!

Maybe even paying only for stored space, actually occupied, and not for traffic ($5TB/m and $0 egress plan)

if You would pay for HDD like even the cheapest used 16TB for ~$250 and You don’t use its full space, its a waste!
Occupying 1 TB every month would last like 4 years! for the price.

And if You just need extra 4TB for a day and the 2nd day You delete, You would only pay like ~ $0,7 for actually used space. Something to experiment with!

Actually you can do it a long time ago, not so fast as cunoFS, but for the OneDrive/etc. replacement it’s very good - see our guide how to Getting Started with Rclone Configuration - Storj Docs and the rclone mount command to mount a Storj bucket either as a disk letter or as a folder.

However, see

Bootable disk is possible, and cunoFS can help with that, I’m sure, but not sure that you can boot Windows this way.
