At the moment, many people are using CoinBase and entrusting them with their funds. However, there are countless individuals in the community who already possess excess STORJ tokens, and I would prefer to give my money to them instead of CoinBase, provided they accept payment methods like Crypto, PayPal, Venmo, and so on.
I’m concerned with how I spend my earned money money. Perhaps a node operator has excess tokens they would like to unload at market value (or slightly above/below).
This forum is for technical support questions, it is not meant for facilitating trading of STORJ token which is a utility token, not to be used for speculative purposes.
If you would like to start a peer to peer marketplace, you may do so on a platform not run by Storj Labs. Some searching on the web may help you find such a place that is not run or moderated by Storj Labs where users can discuss STORJ prices and trading without limitations may already exist.
You want Storj to get involved with a bunch of randos-on-the-Internet ripping each other off? There are plenty of CEX/DEX options that require less trust than buying/selling from a stranger you met in a forum.
And the benefit is some people may save a few pennies? Madness!
I agree with heunland. You have the freedom to do many monumentally stupid things… that’s part of being an adult… just don’t do them here and drag down the rest of us
You are telling me you don’t trust coinbase but you do trust some random schmuck on the forum?
It makes zero sense to me.
Coinbase provides a service. They charge the fee for the service. They deliver on the serive. 5 stars in my book.
So you are making this judgement purely from moral superiority standpoint? You think boars are bad? Well, I don’t. I think they are awesome. As are planes, and helicopters. Getting a license (private pilot/heli; seaplanes next) is one of the most fun thing I did in my life. Try it. Then you’ll change your opinion.
Also, you do realize people usually don’t disclose what do they spend money on, including the allegedly morally perfect individual. Maybe there are supporting insert currently popularly hated thing.
It seems to me you don’t have a reason, just a lot of free time, which you could put to much better use. Just my two cents.
