Maybe China should store their data on Storj DCS?

The same people who run databases like that wouldn’t put passwords on Storj files either.

Maybe. But it is also this:

The whole thing is hosted in the Alibaba Cloud, using – according to experts – outdated technology with security problems.

This is serious if it turns out that Alibaba Cloud is crap.

There is some more:

It is even reported that there was also no way to set a password to secure the database.

If that’s the case then it is a cloud provider problem.

Two cybersecurity firms told the Wall Street Journal that the stolen data was stored in Alibaba’s cloud using technology that was several years out of date and lacked basic security features.

Oh well…

I honestly think this is a great idea.
Not only the security issue, but also the price.Compare to their overseas cloud storage counterparts like Google Cloud,They are too expensive to use and not friendly for free users(17kb/s download speed).
And most importantly, all your personal data need to be censored. If your data violated not only the real law(like pirate game, porn),but also some “unspoken” regulations, your data just gone forever. It’s really annoying for you when you clicked a ancient link and found it is no longer avaliable, and you can’t get contact to this file’s uploader.
The only problem is when everyone knows how good the Storj is,It will get instantly banned from the “Big Brother”.But that’s ok,we almost have our own ways to bypass the "Great Firewall"just like me.Probably VPN or something.
