With the new sn versions, I see mentions of modular storagenode. What is that?
The possibility to enable/disable some chores (to be able to run them separately).
For the usual SNO this functionality is useless, but it’s useful for Storj Select: there are times with a high load, and it’s better to do not run any housekeeping this time and configure it for the time when there is less load, etc.
For the Global Network it’s not useful, because the load is unpredictable.

I’m doing roughly the same with somewhat different means so that I can run my I/O-intensive processing and not have nodes interfere. So I can say that yes, this is useful even for regular SNOs.

It would be a complicated setup, you likely would need a cronjob configured (maybe - several), otherwise your node would become full.
