because now the WYSIWYG editor (the bold A on the left upper corner of the composer image) is enabled by default, but you may switch the composer back to markdown to have more control. You may also add space after the dash and it should be automatically converted to the list with bullets.

Can we make markdown default please?

  1. It’s a tech forum, not Facebook, people hardly care about rich edit,
  2. Everyone is already used to and expects markdown. Changing defaults out of the blue only causes frustration.

@Alexey, I’ve attempted to post this reply as a linked topic and forum kept giving “you don’t have permission to see this resource” error.

Perhaps needs voting, I would create a new poll

I didn’t find the option which may configure these permissions, would try to figure out.

I don’t think I actually don’t have permission; it worked before. it is more likely some glitch — maybe fallout from forum restore recently.

Maybe or the result of the upgrade which also happened that time.

I would remove the nudge words like “Enable” and “Leave” — the switch to rich happened recently, so if anything it should be “leave markdown”. But for those new to the forum rich is default, so… best to avoid implying action and just leave:

  • Markdown default
  • Rich default.

Action words (leave/enable) skew the result — most people vote for status quo. (And even status quo as presented is wrong: it was markdown until last week)

Too late :slight_smile:, it doesn’t allow to change a poll after 5 minutes..

Could you please try to reproduce the problem?
It’s likely related to the not allowed category or maybe some words in the title, otherwise we didn’t find anything unusual.
