You don’t have to do that anymore, just continue.

Hello @nitinsau000 ,
Welcome to the forum!
Where did you take the information, that you still need an authorization token?

The guy setting it up is almost definitely using ChatGPT for setup guidance.
Out of curiosity, I had asked it a question about Storj a month or so ago, and it provided setup instructions that point the user down that old pathway of the authorization token.

Welcome to the Forum @potato !
Yes we now live in a world where we must figure out how to get all the various AI to serve the current versions of everything.
Or stop assuming AI is correct.

That is the path of least friction for now.
I’m foreseeing a world where businesses have to enter the infinite loop of trying to get their information corrected.
Soon those businesses will be run by AI as well.

Or, when changing the process, leave messages along the old path pointing to the new one.

It was done exactly like this:
Didn’t help.
Now AI says, that:
The manual step for authorizing a Storj storagenode identity with an authorization token is no longer required for current public network setups. Identities can now be used without manual authorization.
In the past, the process involved obtaining a token (typically via email signup) and running a command like ./identity authorize storagenode <token>. This step was used during the network’s beta phase to control the number of joining nodes.
The current setup process for a Storj node focuses on the following key steps, as outlined in the official documentation:
Understand Prerequisites: Ensure your system meets the hardware and internet connection requirements.
Set up Port Forwarding: Configure your router to forward traffic on the required port (default is TCP/UDP port 28967) to your node.
Configure QUIC: This step involves specific configurations for the QUIC protocol.
Create an Identity: Every node needs a unique identifier. You generate this identity using the identity binary.
Install Node Software: Install and run the Storj software using either the GUI installer (for Windows) or Docker (recommended for Linux/NAS). During the setup (often a specific “setup” run of the Docker container), the identity files are moved to the correct location and the necessary configuration files are created.
For detailed and up-to-date instructions, refer to the Quickstart Node Setup guide on the official Storj Labs documentation website.
