New Operator from Iraq

Greetings. I’m a new internet user from Iraq.

I read about cloud storage on Storj and started using 500GB of my internal hard drive.

After 10 days, my satellite connection is showing 100% availability for most connections, except for my online connection, which is at 98% and not vetted .

I wanted to share my node mode, hoping to benefit from your experiences and advice.

My internet speed ping 48, jet speed 2, upload speed 35 Mbps and download 50 Mbps

Hello @mohammed_daami90,
Welcome to the forum!

To check, when your node was not available for the satellites you can use these scripts:

Then you can check your router, a firewall and a node’s logs around that time to see, why the connection was blocked.

Thank you for the welcome and information. My current 48GB node is good or slow?

There is no speed or something similar to mining. Your free space and bandwidth are used by real people, not machines. It depends on their behavior, so any usage is good.

It’s pretty good, but don’t think too much about it. Keep the node online as much as possible and otherwise try to forget about it

Welcome!

Note that storj requires uptime. If your electricity or ISP regularly goes out for significant chunks of time it may not be possible to maintain connection enough.

Also, the time to actually fill up data (like more than a terabyte) receive any payment is super slow. You may actually operate your node for 6 months or a year until you receive any sort of payout, and then that would be small like $1USD.

I’ve been running a few nodes for like three years and I think I have a little over 20TB in aggregate, and that earns over $30 USD per month. After three years. Just as a data point.
