New pricing - TrueNAS TrueCloud Backup

Trying to understand the new pricing.

Using TrueNAS with TrueCloud Backup Task - which only option is to use Storji.
These backups are only accessed/restored if something critical happens home, i.e. most probably never.

Old pricing was 4$/TB. With some $-egress if a backup-restore is performed.

New pricing is $6/TB, with 3x old-egress if a backup-restore is performed.

Old pricing still valid for next 12 months for projects of today.

Is this the correct understanding of pricing for backup-only with TrueNAS?

There is also a small file size fee and minimum commitment time. Depending on how your backup looks like this might increase the costs.

Or, likely - not. Because you already uses a plan with a huge discount.

Price after TrueNAS discount is $12.5/month ($150/year) for 5TB.
So, yes, if more than 2TB storage the plan has a discount, otherwise not(?)

I think so. However, the IX-Storj Starter pack is one year only, it’s not prolonging after expiration, so your account would switch to the standard pricing for your project/bucket when this pack will expire.

The reserved capacity plan requires a contract and should be prepaid annually for the agreed capacity.

The future Active Archive plan doesn’t include egress.

Good for a year then with Storji and TrueNAS.

Backblaze B2, which I just left, has $6/TB per month.
Pricing might change late 2026 for all operators.

Google and pCloud-lifetime (both integrated with TrueNAS) might also be a solution if Storji-pricing later does not fulfill a modest private backup-only needs, but they are not as solid - and last time I checked the speed was only max 100/100.

Yes, Storj is a fastest global storage network at the moment. There are a lot of options for TrueNAS users - from using an IX-Storj package (only once and only for new customers) or Reserved Capacity offering until the usual Active Archive (which will be available starting November 1, 2025). Or a regular PRO pricing.
