New to storj need help with node status offline

I just finished up the gui for storj and followed the procedures for installing the node. On the gui it is saying that my node status is offline. I check out https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/?port=28967
and it is saying that my port is closed. Did I miss something?? If so, what? Please help this noob out.

did you entered your external ip:port during installation, typicly only IP is entered. Also port forwarding.

Please, use this checklist:

My Node is OFFLINE for 2 hours

It should connect in seconds. There are a few things you should check. Start with checking the port. On https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/?port=28967 you can fill in the domain or IP you are using in the run command. Then check the port. If it’s closed, it could still be several things. Make sure the WAN IP you see in your router settings matches the IP shown on the above page. Make sure your port forward is set up correctly. That means no filter on incoming IPs, forwarding to th…

For Windows GUI your configuration parameters are stored in the configuration file "%ProgramFiles%\Storj\Storage Node\config.yaml", please, use the Notepad++ to modify it, do not use the usual Notepad.
After any modifications you need to explicitly save the configuration file and restart the storagenode service either from the Services applet or from the elevated powershell:

Restart-Service storagenode
