Open discussion / ideas for updated tokenomics

It will be on the site for tokenomic.

Question is if there is any roadmap with a timeline?

I didn’t see any. But I guess that it would take a time after acquisition to post something in public.
Right now I have only this article:

In particular

So, the plan on the main site for tokens

is remain actual.
Please, track it if you are interested in this topic.

It looks like they’re continuing to buy as they said: last transfer was around $5k a month ago. So the entire plan isn’t dead. But I’m still living my life as if staking will never happen… and if it does it will be a pleasant surprise I can consider then.

The plan isn’t impossible: if Storj reaches profitability they could use a small sliver of that cash to buy 101% of the tokens they need every month (100% for payouts, and distribute 1% to the staking pool). As much as Inveniam would want that 1% for themselves… they may be willing to spend it to stabilize the cheap payment network they inherited.

I don’t know were to put this…
I see an unusual activity on Storj payout wallet for this month. A lot of orange spikes on this graph. Usualy I see one spike just before the payouts. Any ideeas? I’m just curious…

It look like, they are payments from clients or something like that.

…or since they said they’d be buying some market coins… those orange spikes could be periodic buys (like when the price hits one of their bid limits)?

User deposits are being swept into the payout address. I had been watching my own deposit address for any movement, the first sweep was sent to the ops wallet that was funding the payout address. That sweep happened at the start of Feb. At some point after that they switched to sending the tokens directly to the payout wallet.

As for buybacks those will likely come from Kraken (address identified via Arkham Intel) based on the activity I observed for the 5% buyback’s they have been doing related to the planned staking feature. This is of course speculation on my part, but it is based on on-chain data.

No storj coin buybacks for 2 months now

Obviously things are changing:

almost 3 months ago, (81 days), still no buybacks as mentioned.

Here’s an ideea for Storj token use: Storj NFTs.
Storj should mint NFTs and sell them for tokens only. Maybe also reward them to long standing nodes, maybe forum members for exceptional contributions, etc.
This is an area with great potential. I can’t remember if it was sugested before and dismissed, but is worth considering.

It seems the buybacks has stopped, 99 days ago

It seems like they should be keeping low buy orders open all the time (to get around 90% of what they estimate for monthly payouts, cheaply). Then buy the last 10% all-at-once last-minute: to spike the price up to a high-but-real market price.

Then they can send out payouts based on that real-but-temporarily-high price (and thus send fewer coins). And SNOs will race to sell their payouts and drive the price down again. Clever?

As soon as Storj got new ownership, and a new CEO, I assumed all plans around staking and buyback were shelved. So now they only touch enough tokens to manage payouts.

It’s a plan that works: don’t rock the boat :winking_face_with_tongue:
