There should be a mandatory forum user guide that everyone must read and pass a quick test before posting anything. Many don’t know how to use preformatted text.
And this button is missing on the mobile version. Please add it to the mobile version too.
You can add it on the panel - scroll to the right, there would be a plus button and you can select what button do you need.
The markdown was selected as a default by voting.
There is built-in tutorial - one can discover it via chat with @discobot
However this requires attention to details and aversion to shitty formatting, that not everyone posesses.
@Alexey, some forums make the tutorial accessible during onboarding. Perhaps storj forum needs something like this.

Surpisingly, I agree. People who would want markdown will be able to figure out how to switch to it.
But this must be a sticky setting: if I switch to markdown, it shall remain default for me from there on. Having to switch every time would be highly annoying.

Yep, just confirmed:
Discourse will save the last mode used by a member as their individual preference.
We didn’t disable the onboarding tips.
And it’s done. It’s applied only for newcomers after this change.
