For this, you should implement refferal links or refferal IDs that we could give to potential customers. How else could we prove that we sent those customers to you?
Good news. That is already implemented.
The signup link would look like this: https://us1.storj.io/signup?partner=snorkel or any other partner identifier. We can also use some generic code like ref1337. It doesnât really matter. What ever works for you. The moment the customer signs up with that link it gets registered in the database and we can search for any customer that has signed up with that link.
I donât know the details about the commission. I would guess we just go with a percentage of any paid invoice. For a bigger customer that can be substancial. Or just hunderts of small customers. That would also work. The technical part is relativ easy. So if one of you wants to hunt down customers lets fill out the missing parts, I get approval from leadership and we get this going.
This is great! Has this feature recently been enabled, or has it just sat dormant for a long time? Kind regards
It was in use all the time. Maybe I should say it still is in use. Even now we still get partner signups.
I really hard to recommend Storj till it is in chapter 11, I usually feel personal responsibility for things i recommend to my clients. I work in fire protection and security sector.
They are not going to signup tomorrow. Conversations like that usually take months. The question is more what does it take to get there. We can prepare everything and start fresh after chapter 11 is over. Hopefully.
Selecting a new product or vendor can easily take up to 6 months. You donât have to convince an open minded technician when a product is just good. The biggest obstacles are most of the time the other layers like management, security officers, purchasing and legal department, and things like holidays or other priorities (incidents, projects, etc)
You could try to attract Mega.nz as a customer. I donât know if they use their own servers, but the transfers are very slow. They could benefit from Storj, at least for the Pro plan. I see they offer a lot of S3 integrations.
They could just buy storj if they were interested in the technology. I would be a happy Mega SNO. ![]()
Many CAD software companies, like Autodesk, use cloud storage by default, like in Fusion 360.
It worth trying to contact them. Maybe offer them free egress.
Canât recommend it.
For devs: too risky, too slow over S3
For backups: too risky, too expensive
